The Popular Group MPs Valentina Martínez Ferro and Marta González Vázquez have asked the Government to explain whether it has any plans to vaccinate its staff working abroad.

Specifically, Martínez Ferro, who is spokesperson for the Foreign Affairs Committee, and Marta González have asked the government several questions to be answered in writing, in which, after noting that the order of vaccination in Spain is based on age, they express their wish to know if “the government has any plans to vaccinate expatriate Spaniards”.

They also ask whether “there is any vaccination protocol for Spanish civil servants living abroad“.

The initiative of the deputies comes after the unions represented in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with a copy to the head of the department, Arancha González Laya, and to the Ombudsman, Francisco Fernández Marugán, in which they demanded the adoption of urgent measures to vaccinate civil servants working outside Spain.

In addition, the two deputies have presented other questions related to the UK’s decision not to include Spain on the “green list” of safe countries to travel to, a measure that worries them given that this country is one of the main emitters of tourists to Spain.

They are therefore asking the government to tell them in writing what measures it has taken or intends to take to get London to lift the restrictions imposed on Spain.
