Tomorrow at 6.30 p.m., in the Media Library of the Instituto Francés in Madrid, there will be a workshop on opera led by Carlos Alonso Pérez-Fajardo, director of the Ignacio Zuloaga Museum in Pedraza.
By the end of the 19th century, opera had become the dominant artistic expression. The visual (painting, sculpture and architecture), the sound (music) and the combination of both (dance) were placed at the service of literature in its most grandiose manifestation. In late Renaissance Italy, it was an attempt to restore Greek Tragedy to its ancient splendour. We will discover how, in just 300 years, this form of artistic expression left the private salons of the high nobility to become the definitive aesthetic experience. Free admission until full capacity is reached. Reservations are essential through this link.
