Israel and Morocco celebrate the end of Passover and Ramadan together
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

This afternoon at 4 p.m. in the garden of the Centro Sefarad-Israel, the Israeli Ambassador, Rodica Radian-Gordon, the Moroccan Ambassador, Karima Benyaich, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation and the Director General of the Centro Sefarad-Israel, Miguel de Lucas, will jointly celebrate the end of Pesach and the Muslim Aid al-Fitr in a festive event that will include musical performances and culinary samples from both countries.

This event, which will be the first that the Embassy of Morocco and the Embassy of Israel have held jointly in our country, will serve to highlight the ties of friendship that exist between the two countries and between them and Spain, and will be entitled Israel and Morocco Share a Table. At the end of Pesach (Passover), Moroccan Jews in Israel and elsewhere celebrate the Mimuna. The Muslim world, meanwhile, commemorates the Aid al-Fitr, or end of fasting, which marks the end of Ramadan. Both celebrations have a special significance in both cultures. The celebration will also include a performance by Anna Casado and Ofer Ronen, whose music combines the Arab rhythms of North Africa with those of Sepharad. In addition, traditional foods from the dinners with which the Jewish and Muslim worlds commemorate both celebrations will be on display.
