The Instituto Francés in Madrid opens the exhibition ‘From Skin to Skin’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

This evening at 19.30, the Galerie du 10 of the Instituto Francés in Madrid opens the exhibition From Skin to Skin, by Katarzyna Wiesiołek and Seydou Cissé, produced in collaboration with the Casa de Velázquez, with the support of the Galerie Eric Dupont (Paris). Curated by Daniel Lesmes.

The exhibition brings together two former artist members of Casa de Velázquez around the same thematic field, which has become an object of sensitive, transdisciplinary study. Both artists are interested in matter, which reveals presences and symbolisms. Through a selection of their most recent works, a poetics of the skin emerges, as a signifying matter par excellence, both social and cosmic, which allows us to penetrate the surface of appearances. Skin thus becomes the guiding thread of this exploration. Katarzyna Wiesiołek’s drawings and Seydou Cissé’s installations, exhibited together for the first time, invite us on a sensory and political journey that ultimately leads us to question the relationships between beings and their relationship with nature.
