Next Thursday 29 April at 8 p.m. in its Concert Series, the Teatro de la Zarzuela presents the debut of Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva, with a concert devoted entirely to the zarzuela genre.
The concert will feature the special collaboration of tenor Alejandro del Cerro, and maestro Miquel Ortega will be conducting the theatre’s resident orchestra, the ORCAM. The evening will feature compositions by Chueca, Sorozábal, Moreno Torroba, Marqués, Millán, Gaztambide, Penella, Giménez, Luna, Soutullo y Vert, Chapí and Roig, from works such as La alegría de la huerta, Katiuska, La Marchenera, El pájaro azul, El anillo de hierro, El juramento, Los borrachos, El niño judío, La del manojo de rosa, La leyenda del beso, El gato montés, Las hijas de Zebedeo and Cecilia Valdés.
