The series Gastronomy and the Mediterranean kicks off this cultural week at Casa Mediterráneo, with a meeting this evening at 19:00 with Tristram Stuart (in the photo), author of the book Waste: the global food scandal. One third of the food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted. Tristram is also a speaker, activist and expert on the environmental and social impact of food loss and waste. His talk on the TED platform has been viewed more than one million times. The event will be broadcast in English with Spanish subtitles.
On Tuesday 20th at the same time, in the Mediterranean Cineclub, there will be a screening and virtual discussion of the Serbian film At the Birth of the Day. On Wednesday the 21st, at 11 a.m., there will be a guided tour of the Casa Mediterráneo headquarters, for which prior registration is compulsory by emailing comunicacion@casa-mediterraneo.es. The Abril en Danza Festival The Beast Lies Dormant presents the performance of the Maltese choreographer Gaby Davis on Thursday 22nd at 19:00. Finally, on Friday 23rd at 7 p.m., as part of the cycle Writers and the Mediterranean, the book En tierra de Dioniso, vagabundeos por el Norte de Grecia, by the historian and anthropologist María Belmonte, will be presented.
