The Diplomat
The Council of Ministers yesterday appointed the diplomat Raquel Gómez-Cambronero Álvarez as the new director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Science and Innovation, Pedro Duque.
Raquel Gómez-Cambronero was, since August 2018, Deputy Director General for European Union Countries, under the State Secretariat for the EU, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A diplomat for twenty years, the new Head of Cabinet of Minister Duque has an extensive professional career, which has taken her to the Spanish Embassies in Ivory Coast, Cuba (on two occasions, as Consul and Political Counsellor) and the United Kingdom.
During her time in the central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she was assigned to the Cabinet of the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and was Head of Area in the Sub-Directorate General for Western Europe and Deputy Sub-Director General for Andean Countries.
She also provided special services as an advisor in the Department of International and Security Affairs of the Presidency of the Government.
