The Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade ICEX has launched the call for the 46th promotion of ICEX Business Internationalization Scholarships to train young professionals in this field and enhance their employability.
The Internationalization Grants-46 promotion program responds to the needs of economic agents in their international expansion process and its “ultimate purpose is to support the internationalization of companies through the training of professionals“, according to the public entity in charge of promoting the internationalization of Spanish companies. The deadline for applications is March 26 and closes on April 22. Applicants must have been born on or after January 1, 1993, and be a national of an EU member state.
The call that now starts will be made up of three phases. Phase 0 corresponds to the Official University Master’s Degree in International Business Management, of 75 academic credits, taught by ICEX-CECO in Madrid, in academic alliance with the Menéndez Pelayo International University. Between 288 and 300 candidates will be admitted to this phase.
The course begins on October 4, 2021 and ends the week of September 30, 2022, with the reading of the Master’s theses before a panel of judges. ICEX will grant an endowment of 500 euros per student to cover accommodation, transportation and living expenses during this period. The aid may be increased to 2,000 euros for those who have been registered outside the Community of Madrid for at least three years prior to the date of publication of this call.
“As this is an official master’s degree, those selected have the possibility of accessing the scholarships and study grants offered annually by the Ministry of Universities with the aim of ensuring that no potential beneficiary can be excluded from accessing these studies for economic reasons, thus ensuring social cohesion and equal opportunities”, said ICEX.
Phase I corresponds to internships in the network of Spanish economic and trade offices abroad, which will take place for 12 months, from January to December 2023. A minimum of 260 to a maximum of 285 candidates will be eligible. During this phase, the scholarship recipients will receive an annual allowance, which on this occasion ranges, depending on the destination, from 21,300 euros in Paraguay to 42,800 euros in Japan.
Phase II corresponds to the internship period in international companies, entities or organizations, inside and outside Spain, which will begin in the first quarter of 2024. Phase II will be open to those who have successfully completed Phase I of internships in the economic and commercial offices.
