The Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain presents next Friday at 19.30 on the Centre’s YouTube channel, the free online gastronomic event: Kimchi, put a friend at your table, hosted by the famous Korean chef Luke Jang.
This event will reveal the secrets of kimchi, a fermented food from Korea with an unmistakable flavour and multiple nutritional properties and great health benefits. It plays a fundamental role in the history of Korean gastronomy and culture. The collective practice of ‘kimjang’ (the way these preserves are prepared and shared collectively in the Republic of Korea) was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2013. Kimchi is also a very versatile food that offers many possibilities in the kitchen, being used as an appetizer, side dish or main course and is very well adapted to Spanish cuisine, and can be cooked at home with some of the tips that will be revealed in this event. The approximately half-hour broadcast can be followed via streaming and will include showcookings of 3 kimchi menus, making three sauces: kimchi mayonnaise, caramelised kimchi and kimchi piperrada.
