To celebrate International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, Casa Árabe is offering a series of activities throughout the month aimed at raising the profile of women in the Arab world.
Among the activities on offer are this afternoon at 6 p.m., the conference Gender Politics in Tunisia and Libya, with the participation of Begoña Lasagabaster (in the photo), Sana ben Achour and the Libyan activist Wafia Saifalnasr. On Thursday 11 March, at the same time, round table Women in the visual arts in the Arab world, with the artists Zoulikha Bouabdellah and Amina Benbouchta, the gallery owner Sabrina Amrani and Casa Árabe’s culture coordinator, Nuria Medina. On Friday 12 March, at 7:30 p.m., screening of the documentary Freedom Fields, by Naziha Arebi. And on Friday 19 March, at 7.30 p.m., screening of the documentary Queens of Syria, by Yasmin Fedda.
