Concert by the Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski playing Bach

February 23, 2021
in Leisure, Music

With the collaboration of the Instituto Polaco de Cultura, the Círculo de Bellas Artes of Madrid presents the Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski in a concert at the Teatro Fernando de Rojas on 28 February at 7 p.m., in which he will perform The Well-Tempered Clavier (Book II, selection) by J.S. Bach.

Anderszewski belongs to a long line of Polish pianists linked to the French school. He studied in his native city, Lyon and Strasbourg before establishing himself as one of the greats of his generation. After a few albums as an accompanist, his solo discography began in 1999 with an album dedicated to Bach, the fetish composer of his career. Here he approaches the second volume of The Well-Tempered Clavier, a collection of preludes and fugues in all the keys of the chromatic scale that showed Bach’s work on the complex tuning of the keyboard instruments of his time. As so often with Bach, the didactic character of his music is associated with an artistic depth and emotional impact that continues to move us. Tickets on this link.
