The Instituto Cultural Rumano of Madrid invites you tomorrow, 26 February, from 7 p.m., to an online round table discussion Highlights in Romanian-Spanish cultural and diplomatic relations. The meeting will take place on the Institute’s website and will be held on the occasion of this year’s anniversary of 140 years of diplomatic relations between Spain and Romania.
There will be three speeches, with the following themes: Historical relations between Spain and Romania, by José Luis Orella (pictured), historian of the contemporary age, specialising in political thought in Spain and Central Europe; The Romanian community in Spain in times of pandemic, by Silvia Marcu, PhD in Geography and History from the Complutense University of Madrid and graduate in Geography, French Language and Literature, University of Iasi, Romania; and Romanian-Spanish diplomatic and cultural relations in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, given by Flaviu Vasile Rus, doctor, historian and independent researcher, dedicated to promoting the history of Romania. At the end of the talks, moderated by Guillermo Á. Pérez Sánchez, director of the IEE (Institute of European Studies of the University of Valladolid), the members of the virtual table will answer questions from those who are connected.
