Casa Mediterráneo presents this afternoon, at 7 p.m., in its series Geostrategy and the Mediterranean, a round table discussion on Tunisia, with the Spanish Ambassador to Tunisia, Guillermo Ardizone (in the photo), and the Honorary Professor of Arab and Islamic Studies, Bernabé López García. For Spain, Tunisia is a priority political and economic partner. There is a clear will on the part of both countries to improve and deepen bilateral relations in all areas. The Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighbourliness and Cooperation (signed in 1995 and ratified in 1996) was the first treaty that Tunisia signed with a European Union country.

Also, tomorrow Tuesday at 19:00, within the framework of Writers and the Mediterranean, a meeting will be organised with the Catalan writer of Moroccan origin, Najat el Hachmi, winner of the 2021 Nadal Prize for her work El lunes nos querrán, starring two women from Muslim families who embark on “the search for their freedom, both at home and at work”. Meanwhile, on Wednesday 24th at the same time, the film The Consequences of Love will be screened in the Paolo Sorrentino Cycle at the Cineclub Mediterráneo, which tells the story of how Titta Di Girolamo, a man in his fifties, has been living in a Swiss hotel room for eight years. Eight years without working, smoking in silence, sitting in the lobby or in the hotel bar. An atrocious routine, eternally waiting for something to happen. Titta watches life go by without expressing any feelings or emotions. He has no one. What are Titta’s unspeakable secrets? The viewing guide can be consulted at this link. Finally, in the cycle Journalists and the Mediterranean, a meeting will be held on Friday 26th at 10 a.m. with the director of photography of The Associated Press agency for Spain and Portugal, Emilio Morenatti.
