Until 31 March 2021, the Centro Cultural Coreano in Spain is opening an exhibition dedicated to traditional and contemporary Korean handicrafts, entitled Once again, on the starting line, as part of the country’s history and culture, which can be enjoyed online at home with a virtual tour of the Centre’s Han-ul Gallery. It will be accessible from the Centro Cultural Coreano’s website.

This presentation comes after a period of reflection in the midst of the pandemic, with the idea of showing the everyday use of Korean craftsmanship along with its beauty and aesthetic harmony, up to the present time and its future opportunities. The exhibition consists of some 30 traditional and contemporary handicraft works, including pieces of traditional Korean clothing and elements of Korean scholarship, wooden furniture with great symmetry, mother-of-pearl and inlay techniques, white porcelain sets, jade, among others. In addition to video projections of work processes. All of them provided and conceived by Masters of the Intangible Heritage Centre of Korea. Divided into 4 sections, the exhibition shows handicraft objects of Korean daily life and its development: Beginning, Advance, Rest and Again the Beginning. It highlights their functional and aesthetic value.
