The Fundación Juan March is organising a virtual debate this afternoon at 6.30 p.m. on the international image of Spain in the foreign press with Sandrine Morel (in the photo) and Daniel Dombey, correspondents of Le Monde in Spain and the Financial Times in Madrid, respectively, who will be interviewed by Antonio San José and Íñigo Alfonso. This event can only be followed on Canal March and YouTube.
Several recent government initiatives such as Marca España or España Global have aimed to improve the perception and disseminate the positive aspects of Spain abroad, and yet cultural stereotypes and current news continue to prevail as the determining factors in determining public opinion and the national image. This session will debate questions such as: what are the priority issues and which news stories receive the most media attention; does the internal perception coincide with the external image; and what influence does a country’s external image have? The presenters will pose questions proposed by the audience at lacuestionpalpitante@march.es.
