Defense Minister Margarita Robles and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg yesterday exchanged views on the preparation and agenda of the next North Atlantic Council, which will meet virtually at the level of defense ministers on February 17 and 18 and in which the new U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, will participate for the first time.
During the conversation, according to the Ministry of Defense, Robles and Stoltenberg highlighted the “important opportunity” that the arrival of President Joe Biden in the White House represents “to strengthen the transatlantic link and NATO’s role in promoting peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area”.
