La Filarmónica presents the Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

On 14 February at 19.30, the Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires will perform one of the most fascinating works in the piano repertoire, Mozart’s Concerto No. 9 “Jeunehomme”, in a concert organised by the Sociedad de Conciertos La Filarmónica at the Auditorio Nacional de Música.

Pires is a living legend in the history of music who became famous for his interpretation of Mozart. With the characteristic beauty of his sound, delicate phrasing and ability to create atmosphere, Pires faithfully conveys the clarity and emotion of the music of the Salzburg genius. Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for strings in C major, op. 48, completes the concert programme. This concert replaces the concert by Martha Argerich and the Lucerne Orchestra (corresponding to the 2019 – 2020 season), which for health reasons have cancelled their tour of Spain. Tickets can be booked here.
