Until 21 February, the Sala Verde of the Teatros del Canal will host the world premiere of Paloma negra (Tragicomedia del desierto), Alberto Conejero’s third play as stage director and the second with his company Teatro del Acantilado.

A cast of six performers -José Bustos, Yaiza Marcos, Zaira Montes, José Troncoso, Consuelo Trujillo and Juan Vinuesa- bring to life this story of desires and ghosts in Mexico in the early 1970s. Here, “the desert is a promise and a threat”. At its gates, “like every summer, we have met again. Many years ago we arrived from a country that blurs on the other side of the ocean. Some of us were born here, even if no one believes it. Does it matter? We are still here, yes, and we are accompanied by a handful of songs. We don’t know if we laugh or cry when they come out of our mouths, because in this land memories become hallucinations and hallucinations become memories. Can you still hear us? We are still here; once we were together, do you remember?”. Timetables and tickets at this link.
