Iberdrola, through its subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables, has chosen Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) as ‘preferred supplier’ to supply and install some of the world’s most powerful and productive wind turbines at its East Anglia Hub offshore wind farm in UK waters.

According to the energy company, the two companies have agreed to work together in the next ‘contracts for difference’ auction, scheduled for the end of the year, with the intention of reaching agreements for the supply and installation of turbines by then.

Last year, Iberdrola also awarded Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy the supply of 62 8 megawatt (MW) wind turbines for its 496 MW Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm, which it is developing in French waters.
