A former minister, new Nigerian ambassador to Spain

The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has appointed Demola Seriki as ambassador to Spain to fill a post that had been vacant since the departure of the previous ambassador, Susan Aderonke Folarin.

 

Demola Seriki, 61, is one of 52 non-Diplomatic Career Ambassador appointments made by Buhari.

 

The new ambassador is a prominent Nigerian politician, professor and businessman, who has been, among other things, Minister of State for Agriculture and Water Resources, Minister Supervisor of Mine and Steel Development, Minister of Defense and Minister of State for Home Affairs. He was also Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Council.
