With Luisa Fernanda, a classic of the Spanish and American lyric stage, returns to the Teatro de la Zarzuela. There will be 14 performances of Federico Moreno Torroba’s masterpiece between 28th January and 14th February.
And on this occasion it does so in a unique and special way, with the Italian Davide Livermore – currently one of the most sought-after and acclaimed directors in the most important opera houses in the world and responsible for the opening of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in the last two seasons, who defined this zarzuela as “a work of art of Spanish and universal culture” – and the British maestro Karel Mark Chichon, great connoisseur, lover and indefatigable disseminator of Spanish music. Both turn the work into a surprising and exciting theatrical spectacle through its intrinsic theatrical and musical language, which is presented to the audience as a compact whole. As usual, one of the performances will be broadcast live on Wednesday 10 February at 8 p.m. via streaming on the Theatre’s YouTube channel, Facebook profile and website.
