The Diplomat
His Majesty King Philip VI yesterday received in audience the companies that form part of the Board of Trustees or are collaborators of the Fundación Euroamérica. The Foundation has always enjoyed the support of the monarch, who participated in the 20th Anniversary celebration in 2019, as well as during the 15th Anniversary celebration in 2014, then as Prince of Asturias.
After some words by the President of the Foundation, Ramón Jauregui Atondo, in which he recalled the problems suffered by Latin American countries and especially their populations, which have worsened with the pandemic, he mentioned the work of the Foundation with the European Union to make possible the approval of the EU-Mercosur agreement, negotiated over more than 20 years and pending a difficult approval by the Council and the countries of the Union, as well as regarding the modernisation of the European Union agreements with Mexico and Chile.
Finally, Ramón Jáuregui highlighted the report produced in conjunction with the Ibero-American Business Foundation and the CAF Development Bank entitled An Agenda for Recovery, which contains a ten-step guide of initiatives for financial aid to the countries of Latin America, which has already been delivered to the Ibero-American General Secretariat.
King Philip VI addressed a few words of recognition to the work of the Foundation throughout its 22 years of activity, reiterating his support and encouraging it to continue its work. This was followed by a discussion between His Majesty and several of the attendees.
