The Government has sent, through the Embassy in Managua and the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and Development (AECID), humanitarian aid worth 100,000 euros to the Nicaraguan Red Cross in order to assist the victims of the hurricanes that passed through the Central American country last November.
The aid, destined to the communities of the North Caribbean Coast region, one of the most affected by the passage of ‘Eta’ and ‘Iota’, was delivered last Friday in Managua to the Nicaraguan Red Cross by the staff of the AECID and the Embassy.
Specifically, as informed by AECID in a statement, the aid received by the Nicaraguan Red Cross consists of 3,000 food packages, 1,000 hygiene packages, reinforced plastic, mosquito nets and blankets. In addition, there are plans to transport water treatment plants to the Northern Caribbean Coast to provide drinking water to the needy populations.
