The Diplomat
The Bulgarian Government has asked the Spanish authorities to appoint the diplomat Aleksey Andreev as the new ambassador of Bulgaria to Spain, sources told The Diplomat.
Once he is granted the approval of the Spanish Government, Andreev will take up his post to fill the vacancy left by Ivan Kondov, who will occupy a high position in the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Aleksey Andreev was currently Director for Foreign Policy Planning at the Ministry in Sofia, after having been the “number two” in the Bulgarian Permanent Representation to the UN agencies in Geneva; and having been posted in the Embassies in the United Kingdom and Portugal.
The new ambassador in Madrid studied at the Complutense University and at the Spanish Diplomatic School, so he already knows our country.
