ICEX Invest in Spain has launched a new “more modern and functional” Internet portal with the aim of facilitating the arrival of more foreign investment in Spain.
The new portal www.investinspain.org is a “new, more modern and functional tool”, which “will allow foreign investors to easily access the services and programmes that Invest in Spain offers to facilitate the establishment of international companies in Spain”, according to the entity dedicated to the promotion of foreign direct investment (FDI) in our country.
The new online platform has a structure centred on Invest in Spain’s four basic lines of action: Why Spain, with information on the country’s positioning as a destination for FDI; Industries, with data on ten priority economic sectors and their investment opportunities; Doing Business, with a complete description of everything the foreign investor needs to know to set up in Spain; and the We help you section, with the offer of all the services and programmes it provides and direct contact with the Invest in Spain team.
In addition, cross-sectional sections have been developed that show the full potential of the Spanish ecosystem of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability. The portal also has sections focused on investors from specific geographical areas, such as China Desk, aimed at Chinese entrepreneurs, which you will find in their language, and Latam Desk, for Latin American entrepreneurs.
As a meeting point between central and regional administration, Invest in Spain has included in its new website information on what each of the 17 autonomous communities offers to foreign investment. Finally, the new portal includes the extensive foreign network of economic and commercial offices of the Secretariat of State for Trade, as key points of contact for foreign companies.
The main objectives of Invest in Spain are to attract new investment projects to Spain and to attract talent, “thanks to new initiatives that favour the installation in Spain of projects with a high level of R&D, such as the Rising Up in Spain programme or the Intelligent Technological Fund, whose calls for proposals are currently open”, according to ICEX.
Likewise, the Invest in Spain team seeks out financial or industrial investors for Spanish companies and start-ups and carries out Policy Advocacy work with other Spanish government bodies to facilitate constant improvement in the business climate. On the other hand, it focuses on retaining investment, thanks to its Aftercare work and monitoring of companies that have already set up in Spain.
