On 17th January, at 7pm, the Círculo de Bellas Artes will present the Cosmos Quartet, with Lluís Claret on the cello, in its Sala de Columnas.
The Andorran Lluís Claret is an authentic reference of the contemporary cello. And the Bible for the cello was only written by Bach 300 years ago. The first of his famous six suites, truly foundational works for the instrument, will open this unique concert. Later, a young quartet created in Barcelona just over five years ago, the Cosmos, will approach the music of another visionary, Anton Webern, the still-romantic Quartet of 1905 and the ultra-modern Opp.5 and 9, works born between 1909 and 1910 and great references for the avant-garde of the second half of the century. In the second part, Claret and the Cosmos will come together to offer one of the greatest chamber music creations of all time, Schubert’s Quintet in C Major. Tickets on sale at this link.
