The Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid is collaborating in the presentation of the show Marie, directed by Rafael Villalobos and set design by Emanuele Sinisi, produced by the Teatro de La Abadía and the Teatro Real and hosted, as its absolute premiere, at the Teatro de La Abadía until 17 January.
Inspired by the iconic character of Woyzeck, Marie delves into the difficulties of a single mother in the face of her sexual freedom which ends up being stoned by society and murdered by her lover. Thus, if the work of Georg Büchner and his counterpart Wozzeck by Alban Berg are considered the tragedy of contemporary man, Marie raises the tragedy of contemporary woman… Tickets and timetables on this link.
