The Diplomat
The new Guatemalan Ambassador to Spain, Monica Bolaños Pérez, handed over her copies of Letters of Credence at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so that she can begin her activity in our country, while waiting to present her Letters of Credence to the King.
The presentation of the Style Copies to the Second Introducer of Ambassadors, María Sebastián de Erice, took place last Thursday.
Mónica Bolaños arrives in Madrid after having been Guatemala’s Ambassador to Morocco for the last year and having held the post of Director General of International, Multilateral and Economic Affairs for her country between 2017 and the end of 2019, from which she organised the 26th Ibero-American Summit held in the city of Antigua Guatemala.
Previously, the new Guatemalan ambassador was deputy permanent representative to the United Nations in New York for 15 years, between 2000 and 2015, and then went on to occupy the same post with the UN organisations in Geneva until 2017.
