Leo Bassi returns to play Mussolini in the Sala Mirador
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Yo, Mussolini, until January 31st in the Sala Mirador, is a provocative and entertaining play, conceived and performed by the comedian Leo Bassi, designed to generate optimism and give the audience that leaves the theatre the desire to resist, or rather: to resist!

Mixing joke and provocation with a deep reflection on political manipulation, he proposes laughter and positive thinking as an antidote to fascism. Leo Bassi comments: “That despite his humble and provincial origins he spoke perfect German, French and English; that he was named ‘Man of the year’ by Time magazine in the USA in 1936; that he was a close friend of Walt Disney; that he had the enthusiastic support of Churchill for a few years or was until 1938 helping to create the State of Israel; that he was a cocaine addict and thought that Hitler… was gay! Such findings only increased my willingness to overcome the anecdotal side of the character and touch on true fascism. Schedules and programming in this link.
