The Diplomat
The Bulgarian ambassador, Ivan Kondov, left Madrid in mid-December, ending his mission in Spain, where he has been staying for the past four years.
Mr Kondov took over his country’s embassy in Spain in January 2017 and since then has been working intensively to promote relations between the two countries. One of his challenges was to continue in Spain with the first Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the European Union, just as it was celebrating its tenth anniversary of joining the community club.
Until the appointment of a new ambassador, which is expected in the middle of this month, the head of the embassy has been the Councillor Albena Gfeller as Chargé d’Affaires.
