Lucía Lacarra, one of the most internationalised figures of Spanish dance, and the Canadian dancer and choreographer Matthew Golding dance together Fordlandia, a piece that premiered last September in the Dortmund Theatre (Germany) and, between 5 and 10 January, arrives at the Red Room of the Teatros del Canal.
Fordlandia has been inspired by the “vital enclosure”, as its creators explain, and mixes dance, music and visual art to invoke hope: “in a time that is also difficult for dance, we want to dream of better times. We want to see a light at the end of the tunnel and hope that the distance we have to walk is temporary”, but “the love we feel is permanent”, they add. The proposal will “make the audience feel and escape”, and, in it, “everyone has to decide for themselves whether to pay attention to reality or to the dream, to disenchantment or to hope”.
