Who are the Official Town Chroniclers of Madrid? When did they go back? What did they tell us about their respective eras? What was the Madrid they lived in? All these questions and many more are answered in Crónica Mínima de Madrid (Minimum Chronicle of Madrid), a magnificent and enjoyable work of investigation into the history of the city by scholars who loved it, walked it and wrote about it, from Mesonero Romanos in 1864 to Constantino Mediavilla in 2019.
M.ª Ángeles Melero (Madrid, 1959) graduated in Journalism in 1984. She worked as an editor at the newspaper Ya, as an announcer at RNE and collaborated with Europa Press, El Mundo and more than half a dozen magazines.
