The Council of Ministers approved on Tuesday the sale of four Hercules C-130 aircraft, two to Peru and two to Uruguay. The Peruvian government will pay 25 million euros and the Uruguayan one, 22 million.
The Ministry of Defense is in the process of selling its C-130 aircraft, which are being replaced by the new Airbus A400M. Apparently, it has already closed the sale, for a price that would be around 5.5 million each, of another six Hercules to the US company Blue Aeroespace, which, in turn, resells them to other countries, according to information from Heraldo de Aragón.
Since the mid-seventies, when they began to be operational, the C-130 Hercules and have participated in missions around the world, as in the conflicts in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Rwanda, El Salvador … moving Spanish military or performing rescues or transfers of civilian personnel.
