Author: Pilar Tena.
Pilar Tena’s third novel, Fin de semana (Weekend), takes place in two time frames and two geographical areas: London and the English countryside; Barcelona and the Empordà. Two couples meet in a modernist flat in the Eixample after many years without seeing each other. Behind them they drag decades of friendship and infidelity, of loyalty and disloyalty. The memory of their mutual friend, a Canadian photojournalist, is omnipresent in the reunion.
A construction of fiction that serves its author to investigate the eternal themes of love, friendship, desire and deception. Pilar Tena (Madrid, 1955) has a degree in Law and Information Sciences and studied Strategic Management and Social Leadership at IESE Business School. Her various occupations, especially in the management of non-profit organisations, have enabled her to travel around the globe, from Dublin to Sydney, via New Delhi, London and New York.
