Until 27 September, the legendary Annie El Musical, a show for the whole family whose libretto has won seven Tony Awards and three Grammy Awards, will go up to the Sala Roja at the Teatros del Canal in Madrid.
After five successful seasons on the Madrid billboard and with two albums of the complete work on the market, the production is now returning with a formula never before seen in our country. In its archaic plot, Annie is a little orphan who lives in the boarding school run by the evil Miss Hannighan, a cruel governess who mistreats both the girl and her friends and companions. Annie dreams that one day her parents will come to collect her, until one afternoon, Grace Farrell, Oliver Warbucks’ personal secretary, visits the orphanage… and everything changes. Annie stands out for her melodies, like that song of optimism that is Tomorrow, a spectacular and effective set and lighting that transports you to New York in the 1930s.
