The Russian Embassy yesterday decorated seven agents of the Guardia Civil for their participation in two joint Spanish-Russian operations against drug trafficking.
During the award ceremony for the Confraternity of Arms, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, highlighted the “direct communication established between the Russian Police and the Guardia Civil” and was convinced that the collaboration “will continue to be fruitful and will help to facilitate international coexistence and the development of Spanish and Russian society”.
For his part, Ambassador Yuri Korchagin, who presented the decorations on behalf of the Minister of the Interior, Vladimir Kolokotsev, stated that “the success of the operations would not have been possible without respect and coexistence between our organisations”. The decorated agents participated in two joint operations against drug trafficking in 2018 in the province of Girona.
