Dramatized reading and poetry reading at Casa America next Monday, September 14th at 7pm on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mario Benedetti, who left an invaluable literary and human legacy, a legacy that makes you reflect and get closer to his way of seeing and feeling life.
Dramatized reading of Spring with a Broken Corner, directed by Lucila Maqueira, the playwright Mariola Ponce, and the cast of Alejandra Venturini, Ángel Fernández Savín; Juan Carlos Albert Atienza; Gustavo Núñez Abella and Marina Skell. A human vision about exile and dictatorship in which, curiously enough, we do not lose hope. Spring with a Broken Corner is a direct and painful testimony that deals with a split society, fractured by repression and authoritarianism, and tries to be a bridge between two regions -Uruguay under the dictatorship and Uruguay in exile- that constitute a single and lacerated country. Music and musical accompaniment by musicians Julio Ezequiel García Sánchez and Alberto Gabriel Viña Pazos. The event can be followed live on Twitter and our Casa America YouTube and on hashtag #100Benedetti.
