This afternoon at 6.30pm (Spanish mainland time), the book La salud del muerto (The Health of the Dead) will be presented online through Casa África‘s social networks. This is the title of the latest publication in the Literature Collection of this cultural centre.
Its author, Luis Fernando, an Angolan journalist with a degree from Cuba, helps in this work to understand traditional rural Africa, where magic, mysticism and imagination are united with an implacable reality that has arrived with colonisation. Some of Africa’s most pressing problems are treated in this book in an almost humorous way. With this book, you will learn about the saga of a man who dies voluntarily and who, through supernatural arts, is resurrected. A village where life flows smoothly. There is no envy or ambition. They know neither hatred nor despair. The earth provides and they simply enjoy a peaceful life. Until one day the sun goes down and the rains start. And the inhabitants begin for the first time to experience contradictory feelings.
