The Spain-U.S. Council Foundation is organizing the virtual meeting Conversations on Gálvez: Spanish Hero of the American Revolution, on Thursday 23 July at 6 pm, within the framework of the space for reflection on important figures in the Spanish-American world, inaugurated in 2019 with the American philanthropist and Hispanist Archer M. Huntington as the protagonist.
On this occasion, the figure of the military man from Malaga, Bernardo de Gálvez, will be analyzed based on the work of Dr. Gonzalo M. Quintero Bernardo de Gálvez: Spanish Hero of the American Revolution, considered “the best biography published in the United States in 2018” and whose translation into Spanish is expected in the fall of this year. The event, hosted by the Secretary General, Manuel Mª Lejarreta, will be broadcast live on the Foundation’s YouTube channel and will feature the author himself, accompanied by University of Extremadura professor and co-director of the Global Studies think tank at the University of Salamanca, Francisco Rodríguez.
