From September 9 to October 28 of this year, Casa de América will participate in the official section of PHotoEspaña with three exhibitions: Antártida negra, by Adriana Lestido; Más caminos, by María Magdalena Campos Pons; and the collective exhibition Trasatlántica Cuba.
Antártida negra is an emotional and creative confession that provokes and moves. It is about an artist and her search, while visiting dreamlike landscapes and creating a direct, flat and unpretentious travel story. For her part, Más caminos is an autobiographical look that embarks on themes such as history, religion, memory or genre, which she translates and reinterprets in her works as a way of exploring her intimacy. Finally, Trasatlántica Cuba brings together the work of some twenty Cuban photographers, selected in the portfolio viewing sessions held on October 30 and 31 at the Fototeca de La Habana.
