Spanish Chamber of Commerce supports Sánchez’s “firmness” towards EU

The Diplomat

The President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet, has shown his support for the “firmness” of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in his claim to the European Union for strong measures to deal with the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a press release distributed by the House, Bonet said: “We need answers and we need them now. Europe is playing a role in this crisis”. Bonet believes that if the EU does not rise to the occasion, it will cause a “serious disaffection” from citizens who will turn their backs on it.

The President of the House warned that neither European companies nor citizens can wait another 15 days for finance ministers to agree on a plan of shock measures.
