As part of the Jazz in the Auditorium Series, and recommended by the Instituto Polaco de Cultura, tomorrow, February 29th at 8pm the Polish trio Marcin Wasilewski will inaugurate the 2020 season in the CNDM in the Chamber Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.
The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is made up of Marcin Wasilewski on piano, Sławomir Kurkiewicz on double bass and Michał Miskiewicz on drums. They started playing together 25 years ago as Simple Acoustic Trio. In 1996, they won the competition at the prestigious Getxo Jazz Festival. Their jazz is warm, with a hint of Polish melancholy; a melting pot of feelings whose chamber music compositions often bear the unique and unmistakable stamp of their leader, pianist and composer Marcin Wasilewski. His artistic maturity coincides with that of the most experienced masters, without losing any of his vitality, which makes his work unmistakable.
