This evening at 7.30pm in the Torres García and Frida Kahlo Rooms, Casa América is opening the exhibition Terra, by Chilean sculptor Fernando Casasempere.
The exhibition reflects on the urgency of the environmental crisis in which we find ourselves, an ode to the planet and its memory, and a call for greater recognition of the legacy of the ancestral cultures of the American continent. Iconic works by the renowned Chilean artist are included, along with a series of installations created expressly for this show. Fernando Casasempere was born in Santiago de Chile in 1958. He studied ceramics and sculpture in Barcelona during the 1980s, returning to Chile in 1986. His work began to be exhibited internationally from that moment on, and in 1997 he moved his studio to London. His work is shown in the most important international collections.
