The Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid, in collaboration with Rai Teche and the Centro Sefarad-Israel, is once again celebrating the Official Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust and the Prevention of Crimes against Humanity, on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the opening of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp by Soviet troops on January 27, 1945.
On this occasion it will be this morning at 12 noon with the screening of the docufiction Figli del destino. The lives of Liliana, Lia, Tullio and Guido are suddenly altered on September 5, 1938, when King Vittorio Emanuele III signs the fascist racial laws at the Tenuta di San Rossore in Pisa. From that moment everything changes: for the four children a life of discrimination and humiliation, fear and suffering begins. They can no longer go to school; their parents lose their jobs, their families are disrupted. The worst is yet to come… Projection will be in V.O. Free entrance until full capacity is reached. No reservations. Free admission.
