Father Ángel, founding president of Mensajeros de la Paz, and Alberto Martínez Cano, vice-president of UNICEF’s Madrid Committee, were the protagonists of the conference La Infancia en la Agenda Internacional, which the Círculo Intercultural Hispano Árabe (CIHAR) held last Friday, November 29 at the Centro Riojano in Madrid.

After the words of Abdo Tounsi, president of CIHAR, Father Angel spoke, raising his voice and petitions on behalf of children suffering homelessness and violence around the world. Father was accompanied by priest Jalil, who is in charge of a parish in Amman, the capital of Jordan, and impressed all those present with the impressive testimonies he commented on the circumstances of the Palestinian and Syrian refugees he attends in his church.

Finally, Alberto Martínez Cano, from UNICEF Madrid, gave a conference full of data and transparency, which began by recalling the reason for the creation of UNICEF, along with all the actions in defense of children and the resources to achieve their welfare that UNICEF develops around the world. Resources to combat poverty, hunger, child labour and inequality in children, and especially sexual abuse in the latter.
