Disappearance of 3,000 years of Jewish civilization in the Arab world

December 16, 2019
in Culture & Art, Leisure

Uprooted: How 3,000 Years of Jewish Civilization Disappeared in the Arab World is the title of the conference that the Centro Sefarad-Israel will present next Wednesday 18 December at 7 p.m., given by the writer Lyn Julius (pictured), co-founder of Harif, a British association of Middle Eastern and North African Jews, and author of the book Uprooted: How 3000 Years of Jewish Civilization in the Arab World Vanished Overnight.

The writer will talk about the process of disappearance of Jewish communities in certain regions. She will also analyse the events that took place between the 40’s and 70’s of the last century when thousands of Jews left countries such as Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Morocco or Lebanon as a consequence of antisemitism caused by different factors in each country. To attend the event is essential to confirm attendance at this link.
