From today until 19 November, the Teatro de la Zarzuela will premiere Tres sombreros de copa, based on the comedy by Miguel Mihura and composed by Ricardo Llorca. The orchestra is conducted by Diego Martin-Etxebarria, principal conductor of the German Opera in Chemnitz, who in these performances will lead the Orquesta Titular and the Coro del Teatro de la Zarzuela, the Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, and an extraordinary cast.
The tenor Jorge Rodríguez-Norton will play the endearing role of Dionisio, who finds in Paula -a fun dancer played by the young and virtuous soprano Rocío Pérez- a different and happier way of seeing the world. Tenor Emilio Sánchez and baritone Gerardo Bullón will act as Don Rosario and Don Sacramento. Tenor Enrique Viana, as usual, will not leave anyone indifferent with his hilarious performance of Madame Olga, the bearded woman of the circus. The soprano Irene Palazón and the mezzo-soprano Anna Gomà will give life to the dancers Catalina and Valentina, friends of Paula and always ready to have fun.
