The representative of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) for Freedom of the Media, Harlem Désir, yesterday condemned the posters that have appeared exposed in Barcelona in which six journalists are described as “terrorists” and are identified with their image.
Désir asked in his Twitter account that the authorities investigate the case “thoroughly” and ensure a “safe and conducive” working environment in which journalists can work “free from intimidation or fear of attacks.
In addition, he called for the elections next Sunday, the 10th, to be held in a “calm and safe” environment.
The posters are aimed at journalists such as Xavier Sardà; Mayka Navarro; Estefanía Molina and Laura Fàbregas, whom they call “socialists” and against Joan Guirado and Xavier Rius, whom they describe as convergent and ex-convergent, respectively. These professionals, who were identified with their image, were branded as “information terrorists at the service of the IBEX” and were invited “to stay in Madrid”.
