La Casa de Galicia (Calle Casado de Alisal, 8) will host, on Thursday 21 November at 19.30 pm, the presentation of the work of Xulio Ríos, Pepe Castedo, life and azares. The event will be attended by the former Chinese ambassador Felipe de la Morena y Calvet, the Peruvian writer Juan Morillo, the columnist of El País Ana Fuentes, the editor José Luís Teófilo and the author, Xulio Ríos.
José Castedo Carracedo (1914-1982), born in Madrid to a Ferrol mother, made history in Mao’s China. After the civil war, he obtained the status of political refugee in France and in 1964 he changed Paris to Beijing, where he taught until 1979. It is said that he also worked in different publications and media and even collaborated in the Spanish edition of Mao’s Red Book. The Spanish government would recognize his educational excellence by granting him the Order of Alfonso X the Wise, being the first to be worthy of this distinction because of his educational merits in China.
