The Minister of Fomento (Public Works), José Luis Ábalos, stated yesterday that IAG, the holding of Iberia, Vueling, British Airways and Aer Lingus, is complying with the contingency regulations against Brexit to demonstrate that more than 50% of its shares and effective control belong to member states of the European Union, in this case Spanish, in order to continue operating normally once the separation of the United Kingdom happens.
Ábalos, according to Europa Press, indicated that for the time being, the Government has not received any negative response from the European Commission on this matter, “only that it will require more information on the control of the company,” so from the State Aviation Safety Agency (Aesa) are “open to give them everything they claim.
